Day 44 - Babinda Boulders to Japoonvale - 62km
The sugar cane country slowly morphed into banana country with fields full of bananas, each sealed in bags and large signs about staying out of the fields. A fungus is plaguing the humble Cavendish Banana and precautions are in place. I stopped at a farm with a small stall selling bananas, 20c each, honesty system, I even scored a double banana!
I stopped in at the Paronella Park a castle in the tropics built by a Spaniard in 1930s next to a waterfall, left to the elements it stands like a lost ruin in the tropical climate.
I headed onto my camp, right on a beautiful river, I set up and went for another swim, the place was packed obviously a popular place to cool off, by dusk it had thinned out.
Overnight i heard sounds of animals creeping about, this place is full of life.
