Day 45 - Japoonvale to gravel pit - 101km
I set off at dawn getting back into the rhythm, also the humidity was creeping up and I knew I would be drenched in sweat by lunchtime.
At a roadside stop, a grey nomads pointed out a grapefruit tree and said I should try and get one. They were high up and I looked like the long hanging fruit had already been snapped up. I tried for a while but instead settled for a pineapple being sold at an honesty stall nearby.
I headed further and the traffic was getting heavier the closer I got to Townsville, making the ride not as enjoyable, I'll have to suss out some alternate routes.
I made it to a camp, a big gravel pit used by Queensland rail, I had seen a lot of works going on the tracks on my ride up so knew no trains would be passing. Another van joined me and I hut the hay.
