Day 58 - Granite Creek to Gin Gin - 61km
I suddenly realised the sky was dark, great clouds were forming overhead, a little later on the thunder and lighting started. I pulled over and checked BOM, a severe weather warning was issued, high winds, rain and the chance of large hailstones.
I got the tarp out and made a small shelter in the time I had. Then the rain came, bucketing down, tarp flapping in the wind, I was soaked to the bone in no time. Hoping my waterproof bags lived up to the advertising, I shivered under the tarp.
Rain hasn't been a problem so far and I hadn't really prepared for it. After an hour the rain stopped, I put on some dry clothes and got back on the bike, a sure way to warm myself up. The traffic had all but disappeared and I rolled into Gin Gin. Sheltering under a bench I watched the storm clouds roll over, I might need to stay here tonight.
